The Museum of Far East Art in the Star House

The Museum of Far East Art is located in the Star House, a famous Baroque tenement house whose façade is decorated with 17th-century stucco – the home of the World of Orient exhibition. The exhibits presented in the Star House include ancient objects made of bronze, stone, wood, and semi-precious stones, as well as Far and Middle Eastern weapons and textiles. The jewel in the crown of the collection is a set of ceramic objects which consists of grave figurines and various vessels. The displayed objects come from China, Siam, Tibet, Korea, Vietnam, India, and Japan. The oriental garden located at the back of the building is open to visitors during the tourist season, constituting an additional attraction. On Wednesdays entrance to all permanent exhibitions is free.
