The Museum of Toruń Gingerbread

Located in the building of the former nineteenth–century gingerbread factory, which belonged formerly to the famous Weese family, the museum provides its visitors with a chance to explore the secrets of this most famous of Toruń’s delicacies. Visitors can bake their own gingerbread cakes as souvenirs and visit the three-level exhibition filled with items related to the gingerbread baking craft and industry from the Middle Ages to the 20th century. The exhibits include e.g. gingerbread moulds, original historic dishes and kitchen utensils, as well as ovens used for baking gingerbread, and even a Żuk car which was typically used for distributing the gingerbread cakes to shops at the time of the Polish People’s Republic.
