Old Town Hall and Town Hall Tower

As the city’s most representative building, it is a Gothic symbol of Toruń’s Old Town – a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Old Town Hall houses such attractions as the Gallery of Gothic Art with its collection of unique 14th-century stained glasses, an exhibition presenting the history and artistic handicrafts from the period of 1233-1793, an exhibition on the mints and coins of Toruń from the period of 1233/1238-1765, the Grand Hall with a gallery of portraits of prominent Toruń patricians (from the 16th-18th century), the Royal Hall with the oldest collection of the portraits of Polish kings, and a gallery of Polish paintings from the end of the 18th century to 2010, which includes works of Jan Matejko, Wojciech Gerson, Stanisław Ignacy Witkiewicz, Jacek Malczewski, Andrzej Wróblewski and Zdzisław Beksiński. On Wednesdays entrance too all permanent exhibitions is free.

IMPORTANT:

  • On June 1 and 2, 2023, the Town Hall Tower will be open until 18.00
  • The Old Town Hall (museum) and the Town Hall courtyard will be closed on June 2, 2023
