A richly illustrated catalogue accompanies the 150th anniversary exhibition of the District Museum in Torun, 1861-2011. The editors gave up the traditional exhibition catalogues scheme, which provides for the division into essays that discuss the issues of the exhibition (or sometimes more loosely related to it) and the part of the catalogue presenting and analyzing exhibits presented in a specific layout. Instead, a construction dividing text into parts was adopted, according to the consecutive stages of the history of Torun museology, inside which, after a short general introduction, the narrative constructs precise discussions of exhibits relating to a given historical stage through their provenance or illustrative values.
